Rock Zurafa R145WB, known as Rock Giraffe in Japan, is Dashan Wang’s defense-type Beyblade from Beyblade: Metal Masters. Featuring a rubber-based spin track for impact absorption and a Wide Ball tip for stability, Rock Zurafa is designed to withstand aggressive attacks while maintaining a strong presence in the stadium.
The Zurafa energy ring is elliptical, with a scale-like relief and flame-like designs, but its uneven weight distribution makes it less effective for stamina or pure defense. While it can add some weight behind attack-type fusion wheels, it is largely outclassed by better energy rings like Gasher, Cygnus, and Darkhelm.
The Rock fusion wheel features six large protrusions with shallow gaps, offering moderate defense but little offensive potential. While once a staple defense wheel, it has since been outclassed by heavier and more effective options.
The Rubber 145 (R145) spin track is one of the most interesting features of Rock Zurafa, consisting of three rubber wings designed to absorb impact from lower attackers. However, the rubber placement often causes unwanted recoil, reducing stamina and making it scrape the stadium floor. As a result, R145 is outclassed by superior defense tracks like GB145, BD145, and 230.
The Wide Ball (WB) performance tip offers better defense than a standard Ball (B) tip, but its larger surface area increases movement, making it more prone to knockouts against strong attack types.
Despite its flaws in competitive play, Rock Zurafa R145WB remains a visually striking Beyblade with a unique mythology-based design, referencing both the giraffe constellation “Camelopardalis” and the Chinese qilin. A great collector’s item and a fun addition for bladers who enjoy impact-heavy defensive battles!
