Lowest Markup Promise

Even though this is not a proper business with huge revenues (most of the profits go back into collecting and importing), some profits need to be made for the time, money, and energy we are putting into this. These should be profits after compensating for the shipping costs, import charges/commissions by proxy sites, and any customs duty applied on our imported lots. Here’s how we determine pricing.

5% Markup

We got into this import-selling/reselling business after a lot of research and a good deal of experience. Our primary aim? To help Indian bladers flesh out their collection size affordably. We care for the Indian Beyblade community and want to keep it active and thriving.

We bid on auction sites like Mercari and Yahoo Auctions Japan through ZenMarket (a proxy site) and buy directly from Ebay. These websites connect us with US and Japanese sellers who are listing original Takara Tomy, Hasbro, and SonoKong Beyblades. We have contacts in Europe and Korea as well who can buy locally or import from AliExpress, then ship the items to India.

There is almost a 50/50 chance that a customs duty of 50-80% will be applied on any import, randomly, on average. This is added to our calculations. Then, there is the small 5-10% possibility that we get items in a lot that we won’t sell (fake or terrible condition products) or can’t sell (no market demand). Also, importing from Japan, US, etc. incurs shipping charges which can be significant for bigger lots. Thankfully, Beyblades are quite light. You should see the insane shipping costs of importing heavier anime merchandise! Lastly, not all stock moves at the same speed. Whereas popular items are always fast to sell, less popular items need to be held securely and advertised regularly, meaning our lots do not fully sell for a very long time.

Compensating for all that, we want a flat 5% markup on our sales to turn a profit—that’s all. Anything above that and the prices won’t be reasonable in most cases, plus in Plastic Gen and MFB, you deserve only to pay a 5% premium because you are buying mainly for nostalgia, collection, or non-professional battling purposes. In Beyblade X, we sometimes lower the markup further through discounts and deals.

How Do You Set Your Prices?

We have experts with years of buying and selling experience in the Indian Beyblade community (join our group to confirm this from the community itself) to set prices. These experts use their historical knowledge, competing listings, and the item’s value (rarity, market demand, and condition) to set the sale price (base cost + 5% markup). We do not inflate prices just because others are listing at those prices. Sometimes, you can grab an amazing deal with us which is listed for 3-4x the price from another seller, such as any recent limited edition BBX release.

But all that being said, we agree that we can still make mistakes! If you think a price is not justified, we empower you to send us a message and tag us on Instagram or our WhatsApp group. We guarantee every message will be replied to!

Where Do You Buy Beyblades From?

As mentioned, we track platforms like Ebay, ZenMarket, Yahoo Auctions Japan, Mercari, etc., for US and Japan based sellers. We then import items in lots. This can get expensive for a single or small purchase by an individual but we can turn a profit despite the higher cost and the risk of customs duty by importing in lots and then selling multiple items to different buyers.

Our lots arrive in 2-3 weeks’ time. For the most part, we do not accept pre-orders that will make you wait (except for some popular items). We do the waiting, so only in-hand items are listed for sale. Once these lots arrive, we unpack everything, clean and assemble parts, take standard photos from multiple angles, and list them up for sale with clear descriptions of each item and its condition. When sales are made, we update the inventory and the process continues. Please note that each listing is unique.

Let’s say we list a Driger F for sale from a particular lot. When it gets sold out, the listing becomes inactive. Once we get another Driger F in the next lot, we update the picture, condition, and any other details, then reactivate the listing. That is why you will see several out of stock products. They are all about to be restocked soon (many of them on the way).

Can I Trust You?

Honestly, if any of us were in your place, we probably would not trust a new seller. We would rather stick to our own means—may that be solo-importing or buying from other known sellers like Beyblade Shop India, World Hobby Shop, Beyblade Art Shop, Yoginstinct, etc.
